New Database of Quantitative Infrared Spectra of Gases

S.T. Japan has launched a new Infrared Spectra database with over 390 IR spectra of gases and vapors including those normally encountered in the environment and in industry. Each compound has a spectrum available in two resolutions, 0.5, 1.0 cm-1.

Gases in this database are for example CO2, CO, NO2, NO, methane, dimethyl ether, etc.. Vapors are the gaseous phase of compounds that normally are liquids or solids, such as water, methanol, pentane, and diethyl ether.

The spectra are supplied with a spectral resolution of 0,5 and 1,0 cm-1. The database is offered for qualitative analysis (L70063-1), but also with information about the gas concentration relevant for quantitative analysis (L70063-2).

In the spectra databases specifically designed for quantitative analyses each spectrum is presented in absorbance units with a known concentration and path length. This permits the computation of gas concentrations from an unknown sample spectrum without the need to handle potentially dangerous calibration gases. The calibration is inherent in the reference spectra.

With the new “Dr. Hanst Gas Spectra Database” S.T.Japan rounds off its extensive range of spectra collections including more than 115 different ATR-FTIR, Transmission, Raman and NIR spectra databases.
